Banquet Server

At The Abington Club we host events of all shapes and sizes for a variety of occasions. A banquet server is responsible for effectively assisting food and beverage services and aiding in the overall logistics of the banquet events by way of set-up, clear communication and teamwork, while maintaining the company’s standard for excellence. Furthermore, servers are to be accommodating to all guests while circulating the room, and responding politely to their requests.

Banquet Server Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ability to demonstrate superior knowledge of our food offerings

  • Event setup - prepares room for dining by clothing tables, setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.

  • Maintains table setting by removing plates as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water stations, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs.

  • Assisting kitchen staff with food distribution and communicate with kitchen staff of meal progression and replenishment

  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the space

  • Respond in timely fashion to requests or questions of hosts and guests

  • Communication with event lead and staff members at the highest level

  • Maintain the dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude

  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies

  • Concludes dining experience by acknowledging choice of establishment and inviting patrons to return

Banquet Server Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older 

  • The ability to lift 20+ lbs and travel up and down stairs while holding trays, food and other supplies or materials 

  • Ability to work as a team as well as independently

  • Understand the importance of delivering excellent customer service

  • Excellent verbal communication

  • Enthusiastic energy

  • Resolving conflict and working quickly on your feet. We never say “I don't know” we say “I will find the answer to your question”

Work Hours
Daytime and nighttime events, mostly weekends, some occasional weekday events.
